The 90-second legal check decides which bike meets you
Before we load the van, Kai checks your nationality and licence against Vietnamese law. Vietnam recognises only the 1968 Vienna Convention IDP. If yours isn't recognised, we bring a licence-free electric scooter — never a petrol bike over 50cc you can't legally ride from CXR or anywhere else.
A petrol motorbike over 50cc legally needs a motorbike licence plus a valid 1968 Vienna Convention IDP — category A1 for bikes up to 125cc, category A for anything over 125cc. A car-only IDP does not count, and a 1949 Geneva permit is not valid here for a petrol bike over 50cc.
If you're from the UK, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Thailand or the Philippines and hold the matching 1968 IDP, your paperwork covers the petrol fleet. If you're from the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore, Spain or Ireland, a petrol bike over 50cc is off the table — and we'll tell you that straight rather than hand you a fine.
The good news is you ride regardless: an electric scooter rated 4 kW (50cc-equivalent) or under needs no licence and no IDP, and is legal for every nationality. The check just means the right scooter is on the van before we leave for Cam Ranh.

Timing a late or delayed CXR arrival
Flights shift, so we track your flight number and adjust to your real landing, not the schedule. Cam Ranh runs plenty of late and red-eye arrivals — message Kai once you've cleared the gate and we time the meet precisely. Late-night pickups and next-morning hotel drops are both fine when arranged ahead.
